“Gukulam is a beautiful district of Mysore in South India, where I go regularly for my yoga studies. Being in that special place, observing, taking things as they came, I spontaneously developed this design during my latest stay this winter. Playing with textures and colours intuitively, the design evolved under my hands as I was knitting so it became a beautiful souvenir of a good time in that magical place.” - Andreas Ruthemann This 3-skein fingering weight scarf project is knitted on the bias which makes for pointed ends and an elegant drape. The scarf is mainly worked in garter stitch with textured sections using slipped stitches and German short rows. Both ends are pointed due to knitting diagonally and there are 2-st-icord edges framing the work. There is no stranded colourwork included, every row is worked in one colour at a time. Dimensions The finished scarf measures about 30 cm 255 cm / 11.8 x 100.4 “ after washing and blocking. Gauge 22 sts x 44 rows = 10 cm / 4“ in garter stitch. For a scarf or shawl, the gauge is not really important so don’t worry if you don’t meet the exact numbers.
