When a loved one leaves us an heirloom, a part of the person lives on, in and with us. We feel connected to them. An emotional and tangible connection, a beautiful keepsake that means so much to us! With her design for the Connected pullover, Julia reflected on this thought in two ways: the cable pattern in the front, where all the individual cable elements seem to be entwined like an embrace; and creating a garment that can also be worn by different people thanks to its generous dimensions. For her design, she chose NL's Homey Svelte and Silk Divine. Even with her choice of yarn, the focus lies on the connection. Homey Svelte stands for solidity and durability. The delicate Silk Divine conveys tenderness and makes the Connected Pullover cuddly soft. One strand each of the two yarns are held together throughout. The result is an oversized jumper with drop shoulders to be worn with a lot of ease. The large cable panel running down the middle of the jumper down to the hem includes a central cross pattern with two ropes at each side visually connected to each other. The rope panel is mirrored near each side of the body. The roomy sleeves with the large cable panel on top leave enough space for different arm circumferences. The sweater is worked seamlessly from top down. Julias sample is knit in the colours Grey/White (Homey Svelte) and Ivory (Silk Divine) in size 3 with 17 cm / 6.75 in. of positive ease at the bust.
