Tie Top by Jennifer Brou – stylish, androgynous, purist!
Jennifer is one of the most inventive minds in hand knitting today. Her designs are defined by ornamental structures and patterns, always carrying her unmistakable signature and a gift for the unexpected detail, and this piece is no exception!
For her extravagant Tie Top, Jennifer originally worked in NL’s Sedalino. For this version, we chose La Parisienne – a cabled merino yarn that is slightly more elastic and lighter in weight, with an exceptional stitch definition that lets every structured detail truly shine.
A textured horizontal stripe pattern, a smooth centre-front tie, and a brilliantly crafted collar that ties the whole look together – literally.
Front and back are worked separately, bottom-up.
Sample shown here in size 2 in Lys de Paris with approx. 5 cm of positive ease.
Note: As La Parisienne has more elasticity, the drape of the top will be slightly less fluid. We recommend considering knitting one size up.
