If the temperatures still rise over 20 degrees Celsius during the day, is it okay to be dreaming about autumn already? Or imagining that during those early morning hours you can smell it in the air? Judging by the speed of my knitting, autumn is definitely getting closer – I've completely forgotten all my self-made rules about the appropriate number of WIPs and just cast on all the things because I want to. I feel like I'm getting closer to the normal state of affairs, back to my burning desire to create and to knit, after a couple of months' hiatus. I'm starting to feel like myself again, and I have a suspicion that autumn has something to do with it.

My autumn enthusiasm might also have something to do with the fact that we've just sent our Autumn/Winter 2019 issue to print! Yesterday was an exciting day for us here at Laine as we revealed the cover to all of you, our dear readers. Laine issue 9 will be released on September 20, which means that we still have a five-week wait ahead of us, but we'll be sharing lots of sneak peeks in the meantime.

Issue 9, titled 1833 and shot in the beautiful Finnish archipelago, includes:
- 140 pages
- 13 knitting patterns from a talented group of designers: Fiona Alice, Rachel Brockman, Olga Buraya-Kefelian, Aleks Byrd, Renée Callahan, Verena Cohrs, Elly Fales, Whitney Hayward, Marianne Munier, Lavanya Patricella, Lucía Ruiz de Aguirre, Susanne Sommer and Becky Sørensen (please see the full list of yarns featured below)
- an interview with Lavanya Patricella
- a long-format story about Petra Mikaelsson from Fru Valborg
- my story by Kristine Vejar from A Verb For Keeping Warm
